    Unhappy ?? LLanbadawe ??

A relative of mine, living in London at the time of the 1901 census is listed as being born in WALES, Llanbadawe. It looks like an official has scribbled RAD over WALES from which I am assuming RADNORSHIRE.

Llanbadawe cannot be found in Google & I was wondering if it should read Llanbedr as it is phoentically similar?

    Any thoughts or suggestions?

Sounds like a reasonable theory. You also might want to check up on other census records etc focusing on Llanbedr just to make sure.

You could also check Llanbadarn in Cardiganshire.

Radnorshire also contains Llanbadarn y Fynydd and Llanbadarn y Garreg.

    Adrian,

I you post a name and census reference, others can have a look at the entry and give more informed opinion. Have you found the person in earlier censuses?
