Would anyone be able to do a look up for me in the 1841 census for Kington St Michael. I am looking for Isaac Wiltshire and his family. Isaac was born about 1817.
Thanks in advance
Andy

The only one i can find?
Hi Andy,
Hers an entry that i have found on the 1841 census.
the writing is terrible, but here goes;-
ISAAC WILTSHIRE - aged 20 ?Ag. Lab
MARY WILTSHIRE - aged 30
GEORGE WILTSHIRE - aged 1
All born wiltshire, civil parish - Chippenham. Can't make out their address, sorry.
Hope it's them, although Isaacs year of birth on the initial seach states 1821.

Thanks for the information. It does not seem to tally either on date or with the members.
I shall have to do some more research.
Thanks again

I think this may be your guy:
Isaac Wiltshire - age 25 - single.
He is living in living in Cirencester, Gloucestershire but was not born in the county. As you will no doubt know, Cirencester is not a million miles from Wiltshire.
There is no profession mentioned - but the information on the 1841 is not that detailed and ages were rounded up or down by up to five years.
The reference is: Class: HO107; Civil Parish: Cirencester; County: Gloucestershire; Enumeration District: 5; Page: 1; Line: 17; GSU roll: 288789.Last edited by Lindad; 22-09-2006 at 12:20 AM. Reason: word missing!
