thank you very much for that knotty seems we are related it is surely a small world.
my roseanna knott married jonah hyatt in 1858 in victoria australia.
Jonah Hyatt married Rosanna Knott
Rosanna had emigrated on her own at the age of nineteen. Jonah and Rosanna moved from Geelong to Mount Cole about 1862, then to Whimholes.
They had nine children (3 sons and 6 daughters)
ROSANNA, MARY ANN, HENRY, ELIZABETH, ROSEANNA
WILLIAM, JANE, LOUISA/LUCY, ALBERT
of whom six
Mary, Henry, Rosanna, William, Jane and Louisa) survived infancy. The family was living at Whimholes when Rosanna died nov 17 1875 in ballarat, aged 36.
Jonah subsequently moved to Blakeville. He married Elizabeth Blamire (nee Barr), a widow,in 1886, and they had one child - a daughter May. Jonah died in 1918,aged 83, outliving all but two of his children - his eldest son Henry (my great grandfather)and Louisa (Mrs Gates of Dubbo, NSW).
It is interesting though that the name roseanna/rosanna has been used many times in the family but no hannah. The name rose has been used often as well.
it seems that the george Knott who married rose burningham was the cousin of henry knott.
any idea what happened to mary ann knott rose's sister.
thank you again for filling in my missing knotts
