Murdoch Rosie and Christina Wilson
I do have them on my tree but am not directly related myself. There are connections to my "family" with some of their descedants though.
I believe Murdoch also 1st married Isabella Rosie Nov 26 1830 in Bower.
had two girls Catherine 1832 and Marjory 1834.
Born c 1801. His parents were Alexander Rosie 1761 Watten and Madge Rosie 1771 Stroma.
Christina's parents John Wilson and Lydia Bain. not born in Caithness c 1812?
I have more information on their family but not their deaths. Can I ask what your source for them are?

Murdoch Rosie and Christina Wilson
Hello all. My name is Steve, and I am the fellow that James posted the query for. He pointed me to this forum, and I just signed up.
I would be very interested in any Rosie info I could find. I actually have two different Rosie families that merge through marriage.
Alexander Rosie b. Dec 2, 1761 Watten married
Marjory(Madge) Rosie b. Oct 26, 1771 Stroma. Date of marriage Mar 1, 1800 Canisbay.
Alexander's parents were: Donald Rosie and Isobel Taylor
Marjory's parents were: Murdoch Rosie and Margaret Jack
The Murdoch Rosie from the original post from James would be a son of Alexander and Marjory Rosie. If anything sounds promising I would love to fill in some gaps.
Regards,
Steve

Ahh those Rosie families
While not mine directly I do happen to have a fairly substantial amount about them on my tree.
There are few connections with some of their descendants to some of my more distant cousins.
Then there is a theory that all Rosie's in Caithnes and Orkney may somehow be related anyway so I tend to gather information on most of them.
What exactly were you looking for about them.
BTW you could check out my Rootsweb Tree first.
Keep in mind that I may or may not have more information but am more than willing to share what I do have.

Ahh Those Rosie families
Hello Mamie,
I guess I have just been on a hunt to fill in some of the many gaps I have on this family branch. Murdoch would be my 2x Great Grandfather.
I had a brief look at your tree, and I already have found a couple strays that I had nothing on.
The one major discovery I came across was a earlier marriage for Murdoch to Isabella ? That was quite a shocker. Would you happen to have any further details? Anything you could provide would be appreciated.
I am sure I will have some more questions for you after I check your tree further. I hope you will put up with my pestering.
Regards,
Steve

Murdoch Rosie and Isabella Rosie m Nov 26 1830, Bower
Two daughters
Catherine Feb 11 1832 ch Mar 16 1832 in Wick may have married an Angus Sutherland Mar 6 1863. Have not looked at the entry at GROS to confirm this.
Marjory Feb 22 1834 ch Feb 25 1834 in Wick
I suspect Isabella died in childbirth
I clued in because Marjory was living with Murdoch's parents in 1841.

Thank you Mamie,
This was a whole new branch of the tree that I had nothing on. I think that I actually saw that census entry before, but couldn't place the seven year old in the household. It all makes sense now. I appreciate the info.
Regards,
Steve
