There are also two lines closed on the 1939 census from the william and emily Biddell house hold. One of those could by my grandmother.

I know you can pay to have the lines opening, but given she died in 1998, when do they automatically open?

Having that open might be a big help

So William and Emily as her parents would seem the correct route. But I just cant seem to link them together nicely to be confident that the other results (Thomas and Hilda) are wrong.
To be 100% confident you need your grandparent's marriage certificate which will name her father.

Bit odd though as on the 1939 census, it has her name "Biddle" scribbled our and put as "Kempson"
The 1939 register was updated regularly as the NHS used it for their records.

    A possible 2nd marriage is

    Marriages Dec 1950
Biddell Emily Kempson Birmingham 9c 569
Kempson William Biddell Birmingham 9c 569

And a possible death for William

    Deaths Mar 1950
    BIDDELL William age 56 Birmingham 9c 215

I would think your grandmother is the 1939 redacted record in the Paget household as she was married by then.

I'm unsure when records are automatically opened, but it could be after 100 years of birth date.

Thanks Alma, will keep you posted.

Is there a reason I can't locate a marriage record for my grandmother where she went from Paget to Morrison (or a divorce record)
