Just found my first Adoption and do not know how to go finding out about it.

May Lillian Byles Mothers name Elizabeth Byles was born on 12 April 1892 • Union workhouse, East, Leicestershire, England.
1901 May is living with Tom and Emma Russell as May L Russell
1911 She is still living with Tom and Emma under her real name of May L Byles as their Adopted Child
1919 May marries Frank J Auger as May L Russell. (Auger family is my connection)
They have children and go to live in Austraila.

I have all Infomation about them.

BUT can not find anything about her mother Elizabeth Byles.

And how do I find Adoption record for that time !!!!

Brain is not working right with all thats going on in my life at the moment but glad I haven't go this lergy thats going arround, Just haveing a second childhood with my 6 year old grandson Zachary.

indeed, nor me. Elizabeth Ann Byles also with no mother's maiden name. So her mother might I suppose be the Elizabeth Byles born Leicester 1843, parents William & Mary.

May Lilian was baptised on 28 April 1892 at St. Peter's Leicester. According to Family Search she was baptised as Mary Lilian.

May Lilian daughter of Elizabeth BYLES, Single Woman - Abode is Union Workhouse Infirmary according to the Parish Register. No 'r' in May when compared to Marys on the page. One of 3 Baptisms to Single women from the workhouse on that date.

States that thy hold records for the Workhouse, and were thy are held maybe you could inquire if there is anything extra on Elizabeth
