Yeah I assumed that to be the case as surname spellings do vary eg Emma seally who married Samuel ranges from really, silly, sealy, seally

Birth year for Thomas archdale on 1841 census indicates he was born abt. 1810 as he was down as 30yrs old.

However in the 1851, 1861, and 1871 census it changes to 1805/6
