Where did you check military records?
If he was attached to the RAF, his records would probably be separate from those attached to the army. Also, WW2 records have not been released for online...

Did the person who made these suggestions give their sources? I have to admit that it looks to me as if they might have confused data for two people... however, my main expertise lies among the...
Do you mean the numbers before 1(a), Barbara? I think they are old-style service numbers. Before service numbers were standardized, each regiment had its own numbering system and men who moved...

One of my ggfathers was an ag lab, which confused me as he lived in a fairly large town. It turned out that he was working for the local asylum/poor house, who had their own dairy herd and fields....

Many thanks, Bev, to you and your helpers.
If anyone feels like helping, leave a message here.
In this time of lockdown, I've been looking around the forums and it's struck me that there is an extra point that I should have made in the last paragraph of the previous post.

I wonder how many of these fairs and clubs will retain online aspects when the virus is under control. A microscopy club I belong to has said that they certainly will since they have...
It's possible to speculate about all sorts of things... In addition to Jomot1's thoughts:
It was common, if a man was left with small children, for him to remarry fairly quickly, but you really need...
Have you seen the letter in the Southern Reporter and Cork Commercial Courier of 10 Aug 1852? It suggests that the "body of a lad apparently not more than 16 years of age" found on the beach might be...

I see that Scotlands People now has some Church Registers from other Presbyterian Churches as well as the Church of Scotland and Catholic Churches.
This includes (copied from their site):
Have you asked the Cameron Highlanders Museum? They have an archive.
