Can't believe I typed Anderson - it's Aston in my notes.
Birth registered Jun Quarter 1881, Croyden (Surrey), vol 2A, Page 210 - mother's maiden name Griffin.
I found mention of the RFA re....
Is the full name Clyde Gibson Anderson?
I can see that name in NZ newspapers and also a Surrey birth registration 1881.
Check early Trove (1838-1851) for Robert Tighe.
Are you aware of Australian newspapers on line - Trove?
Plenty there re. Atkinsion. One item mentions a brother, Robert Henry, 1st town clerk of...
He was manager of the Queen's Theatre, Dublin
First, a very warm welcome to Brit-gen.
I note a separate thread has already produced results re. McAneney.

Spotted a couple of references to JFM as convert to Rome and wondered where the information might have come from. Tracked it to the Whitehall Review, 1878 - had you seen this in your attempt to track...
I am not personally interested in John Francis Merewether (JFM) - just want to contribute to your search - if possible. Thanks for the info.

Almach has identified 3 possible birth registrations -, and quickly eliminated one (on 1871 Census). I have eliminated another (on 1871 Census) - and then there was one! If it was only that simple....
Yes, it states that as the reason on Canadian Archives.
While the census returns don't exist this identifies the "scraps" available (I had a look at 1891)
Just confirmed from Canadian Archives that Newfoundland was not included in the Canadian Censuses 1851 - 1911.
Found Thomas and Eliza on the 1871 Census, still with Thomas born 1854. Therefore, sadly, must conclude the Thomas born to Thomas Pryor and Eliza Painter is NOT "your" Thomas.
Wonder how much...
I can find a Thomas, aged 35 and Eliza, aged 35 Pryor, with son Thomas aged 7 on the 1861 Census. Thomas Snr is a copper miner.
If Thomas, aged 7, is "your" Thomas it flies in the face of the 1921...
