Does anybody know why a census listing would be crossed out with a pen and has this sort of thing written next to, example: see page 8, book 2. What does this means?

Agreed, it can be vague and difficult to be precise and accurate. Just have to be careful and thorough.

Yes I was told the same, I live in Liverpool so Kent is quite far to go. They offered a £40 per hour researchers fee though.

I'm pretty sure that's not the right person. The info I have on George is vague but from family. George could be older a few years older or younger (not helpful I know). He went to live with a family...

I do have more information on those aspects of her life from what family have told me.

Correct, she spent most of her adult life in Skelmersdale, and died there in 2013.

The thing is, Violet appears not to have a middle name on the census and no middle name on Dorothy's birth certificate either. I am told she died rather young, potentially early 1940s but nobody...
