Help with Thornton family please
Hi
Ester Thornton was born abt 1827 in Flintshire, I believe her parents could be Thomas Thornton born abt 1791 and Susan born abt 1791 this is what I found on the 1841 census.
I have been trying to find a baptism for Ester or a marriage for her parents with no luck so far.
I believe Ester married William Jenkins they lived in and around Buckley.
any help would be very much appreciated.
William Thornton Bristol 1799

Hi,
I don’t know if this is relevant but I found some correspondence from the Master of the sloop Lord Nelson requesting permission for a 15 year old passenger, William Thornton Son of Arran Stewart to disembark. William born at ?????ford did not have a passport due to “His Majesties late proclamation was not known at ???ford when the vessel sailed”
He is to go into the care of friends at Kensington to be apprenticed in London
I can’t figure out the Master’s first name but his surname looks like Walsh. It is addressed to a Duke. I’m not very good at deciphering. There is probably a transcription on the web site but it the pages are so slow to load I am loath to search for it.
