I came across the article below whilst doing some research. It's long but fascinating, and I can thoroughly recommend it to anyone who likes history.
It starts at the bottom of page 4 of the Cambrian newspaper from 14 Dec 1822 and is entitled "The Life and Adventures of John Nicol. Mariner"
