do we have any experts on the war of Spanish succesion. One of my ancester Conway Mace was an officer in Merediths Regiment which went with Marlborough to fight the French at Blenheim etc. I have him enlisting in 1702 or buying his commision as an ensign possibly...and he transfered to Donegals regiment in 1710 But he married Lucie Button in 1704 in St Martins in the Field Westminster and she gave birth to their child in 1708 also in Westminster....so is it true the army or officers came home for xmas or was he simply not with his regiment...
