Can anyone help with a look up in the 1841 Census for the following:

Joseph Chamberlain Cook bn abt 1835 in Painswick, Gloucestershire.

Benjamin William Cook bn abt 1834 brother of Joseph C ?

Father = Benjamin Cook bn abt 1787 ?

Would also appreciate any other information regarding this family.

Thanks, John B.

John Adey of Painswick obtained property from the widow Cooke some time around 1685.

John Cooke of Miserden married Sarah Adey in Painswick in 1771.

I can let you have details of other Painswick Cooke marriages if required.

Joseph Cooke was the Painswick Baptist minister from 1849 to 1871.

Mr A B Cooke was chairman of Painswick Parish Council from 1941 to 1946.

In 1684 John Cooke was a colleague of Walter Merrett one of the constables of the parish and his name is mentioned in accounts more details are in A Cotteswold Manor being the history of Painswick by Welbore St Clair Baddeley also in the same book are details of property owned by Stephen Cooke prior to 1722 and mentions of Stephens children Thomas and Anne.

I hope this helps you.

Regards
John Adey

I've not yet had a chance to check the email that you sent me. Are you aware of the Cooke family connections in Hardwicke, Gloucestershire starting in 1584?
