1841 Bromsgrove Workhouse Transcription

Hi Folks,

Someone has very kindly donated a transcription of the 1841 census of Bromsgrove Workhouse to our website, plus a few other bits. So I thought this might be a suitable place to inform you all. Hope no one objects. It's all quite free.

is it possible to find out when and why a family arrived in the workhouse?

I have found my great great grandad on the 1851 census residing at the Bromsgrove Workhouse, with his mother, sister and brother.

they appear to have moved around a lot.

Henry (1843) was born in Birkenhead
Caroline (1845-1858) in Bolton
Samuel (1848-1857) in the Sedgely area.

Their mother Sarah (1814), I know very little about

the two younger children died in the workhouse and by 1861 Henry and his mother were no longer living in the workhouse or together.
