Hello everyone

I wonder if anyone could help me with trying to track down some information on my grandfather's world war one record.

My grandfather served in the Royal Garrison Artillery on the western front from spring 1916 to 1918. We are fortunate in that some of his war records have survived so we know that he spent most of his service with the 90th Siege Battery with a couple of short spells in the 235 Siege Battery.

Unfortunately the war diaries for these batteries are missing for the period in which he served in them. Therefore I was wondering if anybody had any other information on these batteries and where they served, perhaps personal diaries of people who served in these units, or some other war records of which I'm not aware.

I have managed to identify which Heavy Artillery Groups his batteries were assigned to but not, as of yet, where they were located.

Thanks very much

Chris

That's very interesting as I was looking at these diaries only today at the PRO. |banghead|

Suggest you look at WO95/482 for the 90th Seige Battery.

Kind regards
