What does the census say about her? e.g. where and when was she born? Where is she living? Does anyone live with her?

Have you looked for her in the 1939 "census"?

Albert Gustav V Preuss married Charlotte White 1876 Westminster M Qtr Vol 1A Page 717.

Albert was about 15 years older than Charlotte. There is some evidence that he married and divorced before marrying Charlotte.

If she was an actress you should try searching The Stage newspaper. Findmypast has the archives.

It seems that the 1911 Census was completed by Violet's brother Leonard, who wrote 'professional' in box 10 and 'theatre' in box 11. The word 'actress' seems to have been added, perhaps by the enumerator.

The 1901 census has Violet as a professional dancer, along with her sister Lottie.

There's more to this. Oscar Preuss is described as Recording Engineer in her will. In 1950, Oscar Preuss hired producer George Martin as his assistant. When Preuss retired in 1955, Martin succeeded him as Parlophone's manager. And we all know what George Martin went on to achieve. She is not on the list of Parlophone artists so she probably never recorded. 1926 living with brother Leonard. 1930's Lewisham. 1939 Harpenden Hertfordshire and mid 1940's on in Paddington. She is buried in Newham.
