I have seen somewhere a web site that is connected with the children of American soldiers that were here during WW11 and then were gone before the child arrived but I cannot remember where I saw it. Someone has asked me if it is possible to trace an american soldier after all this time. If I could find the site I could then give some advice as to how hard it will be.

Hello Ann :)
I found this site after a Google
http://www.gitrace.org/about.htm
It may not be the one you mention but it could be a starting place?
best wishes

Thank you so much! that was the place. I found it when I was getting information for a cousin but that was this time last year before my hard drive gasped its last and I had to have a new puter.
I told the person who wanted the information that I could find it through the kind people on BG-forums, and I was right.
I have not only bookmarked the site but written the address in my addresses-I-really-want-to-keep book.
Thank you again for taking the time

Hello Ann
There also seem to be a site for Canadian war children, but I don't know if it would be of any use. You'll find it at http://www.project-roots.com/
Best wishes
Ann
