The New South Wales BDM office has just updated their free online indexes.

Searches can now be made:

Births 1788 - 1905
Deaths 1788 - 1974
Marriages 1788 - 1954

They are at:

but they are not free.

However, you can download the image of the entry - again for a charge of course.
