In looking for my Bogue ancestors without much success, i was given information from the 1881 census which seems to very likely be them!! They have been recorded as Bayne rather than Bogue, did they change their name?? However when the daughter married she was recorded as Boag, so maybe it is just a case of handwriting interpretation. All other information seems to fit.Would be glad to hear from anyone who recognises any of the following in their research:
John Bayne M 40 Lagan, Ireland.
Helen Bayne F 39 Monaghan Ireland
Mary Bayne F 7 Govan Lanark Scotland
Bridget Bayne 1m F St James Dunbarton Scotland
John Britton 2 M Govan Lanark Scotland (nephew)
Hugh McGlone U 36 M NK Ireland (lodger)
John Maghan U 27 M NK Ireland (lodger)
Dan Luck U 42 M NK Ireland (lodger)
Census place was Old Kilpatrick, Dumbarton, Scotland.
Heres hoping!!
