I'm trying to find any information on George Cross, my 3rd great grand father. I know he served in the army during the Crimean War and survived. He died aged 96 about 1899 in Kiddington Oxfordshire.

I have no records of which regiment he served in so any help would be welcome.

It would help us if you told us how you know that he was in the Crimean War.

He would have been a bit old for the Crimean War, surely.

Are you sure it wasn't his son George born about 1834?

FMP has one record for a George Cross b circa 1804 of Frithwell Bicester Oxf. He appears to have been discharged in 1844 pre Crimean War .
