Hi freddisley

I can't help you with where to find the service records.
However, this link may help a little with your searches?

Hi freddisley

Me again

I checked the National Archives site

http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/

In the search type - home guard service records
on the right hand side of the page that comes up is the following section:-

Research guides
Auxiliary Army Forces: Volunteers, Yeomanry,
Territorials & Home Guard 1769-1945

That should help

best wishes
Lynda

Just found this - did you find your Home guard Records? I would think they are either in Southend Library or Chelmsford where the Essex Records office is.

It might also be worth finding out if there is a Local History Society, they may have photographs.
