Could anyone help me please?
I am attempting to research my family tree presently looking into my great grandmother & grandparents :-
Eliza Rudge b. about 1872-1878 Halesowen
Ethel Dallow b. 1901 Birmingham
Albert Walter Dallow b. 1899 Birmingham
Albert& Ethel Dallow had 2 sons :-
Harold Frederick Dallow b. 1921 B'ham
Albert Dallow b. 1925 B'ham
I have been able to follow these ancestors in the electoral books at B'ham Central Library from 1920 through to 1940 showing them living in Norwood Road, Bordesley Green, Birmingham. There is a break during wartime when the registers were not taken recommencing again after the war years. I had hoped to follow the family at the same address but in the registers which commenced again after the war the road was simply listed as “Nil” ~ I can only assume that the properties may have been bombed.
Obviously, this means that I am now unable to follow the family as I do not know where they moved to not having their new address to follow in the electoral books.
I had hoped that the Norwood Road address might also show up a trace for another family member too ~ Harry Rudge, Born 1918, B'ham, but sadly, he was obviously living elsewhere.
Can anyone help or advise me on how I might be able to trace where they moved to & lived for the remainder of their lives?
Any help or advise would be much appreciated.
Thank you.

Look for any death certificates as they should give you address. That's if the folks have died

Thanks again.

Hello alarms,
Welcome to British-Genealogy. :smile5:
Even as I was reading your query my first thought was 'death certificates' - and I then found Sandyhall had had the exact same thought. And not only had the thought but had found 'possibles' for you, as well as other stuff.
I noticed that you had posted the exact query in the Warwickshire county forum. Duplicate posts are not allowed under any circumstances. They cause confusion and can lead to a waste of time if research is duplicated by someone being unaware of another thread. So I have deleted the Warwickshire one but will be quite happy to move this thread across to Warwickshire if you would like it there instead of 'Electoral rolls'.

Hi
So Harry Rudge was the son of Eliza. It seems they are together in the 1939 register on FMP, using the basic search.
You have the correct death record for him (1996) which shows his birthdate as 20 October 1918 which matches the birth registration.

Don't forget that Eliza may have been a widow when she married Mr Rudge.
Birth certificates ask for the mother's maiden name, not the name she used when she married the father of the children.
I'm currently downstairs using my tablet so can't easily check for Eliza on census, etc, to help check out an earlier marriage for her.

There is no Rudge listed on FreeBMD page, ODD number of entries on page. I have added correction
