Dates, dates, dates. :smile5:

It also helps us to help you (researching in Ireland is enough of a challenge in the first place!) if you tell us exactly what information you have already and where you found it (saves us wasting time duplicating your research) and exactly what you now want to find out.

I'm still slightly confused. (Doesn't take much. :biggrin:)

So you have Ellen Lunn, and have her married, sometime after 1911, to Joseph Russell.

But as your post begins 'Searching Martins from the Dromore area', do I presume that you are now searching for more information on Ellen's mother, Catherine Lunn nee Martin? Or do you have her parents' names (from a baptism entry) and want to know more about them? e.g. where and when they married.

Is this the same family as Alexander Lunn who left Dromore to join first the Royal Irish Rifles and then the RA.? Parents were John and Catherine, brothers John and David, sisters Maggie and Agnes?

Are you familiar with Irishgenealogy. Searching is free but you have to register.

https://www.irishgenealogy.ie/en/

Have found the birth registration of Ellen (1898) and William/Catherine's marriage (1893). Probable birth for William (1874) and possible for Catherine (1867). The Civil Registration District/Office is Banbridge.

Happy hunting

I have several Hamilton relatives from Dromore, County Down. I am looking for early Hamiltons in Dromore several generations back, early 1800s. I am also wondering if relatives still live there. Please see details below:

Margaret B. Hamilton, born Sep. 5, 1877 in Ballmacormick, Dromore, Down [I have her birth cert.]
Emigrated in 1885 to work in linen mills in Lawrence, Mass.
Married Charles Richards Vose in 1896.
Died in Lawrence, Mass. USA, on Aug 16, 1953.

She was the daughter of

Joseph Hamilton, b. Mar 10, 1838, Dromore, died 1910 in Lawrence, Mass., USA;

and Isabella McClean/McLane/McLean/McClain, b. Oct 10, 1838, Dromore, died 1905 in Lawrence, Mass., USA.

Joseph arrived in Boston in 1887 to work in the linen mills in Lawrence, Massachusetts. Isabella arrived in 1888.

Joseph was son of William Hamilton, b. 1810 and Mary Gibson, b. 1814. He had a sister Jane, b. 1836. No other details known.

Bella was daughter of Alexander McLean (dates unk) and Mary Carlisle/Carlile.
She had siblings
Mary Anne (b 1836, rest unknown);
Alexander (1841-abt 1899) stayed in Ireland, married Mary Ann ?); and
James (b. 1848, rest unknown)

I am looking to fill in the gaps in these earlier generations.
