Irish records are new to me & it's an area that I am only just beginning to look into.
I am used to English death certificates and I am wondering if anyone might be able to tell me what information would be found upon an Irish death certificate dated 1893. Is there any chance that the parents names of a man who died in County Tyrone, Ireland in 1893 might be shown upon his death certificate? He was a married man who died aged about 62 years old.
Thank you.

According tho this website
http://www.irish-genealogy-toolkit.com/Irish-deaths.html
it wasn't until 2005 that parents names were included on irish death certs; nor was there a date of birth.

An Irish death cert in 1893 was in effect the same as an English death cert. You would not get parents names, save where one was the informant (not likely for someone aged 62). You can view the original certificate for this death on-line on the GRONI website, using the “search registrations” option:

https://geni.nidirect.gov.uk

You will need to open an account and buy some credits. It costs £2.50 (sterling) to a view a certificate.

That's great information ~ thank you so much. I didn't know that it was possible to view certificates in this way.
