Another day another set of Burial Record abbreviations.

William HACKLEY was buried on 19 Jan 1795 St Margaret, Westminster - Westminster Burials Transcriptions at findmypast.

Each entry is followed by an abbreviation:

CD, GN, GD, G½D or CN

I have tried Googling to find what these mean without success. Can anyone help please?

Hi again

If you google St Margaret's Westminster burial codes - this should take you to an old rootsweb page name of GOONS where Wesminster archives have answered a similar enquiry. The abbreviations refer to tbe fees.

Thank you, grisel. I didn't think to try the word 'code'.

I have saved the information for the future.
