There is a death record for a Paul BROWN in the civil registration index for Wales:

BROWN, Paul
Death
Age 88
September Quarter 1867
Bedwelty Monmouthshire
Volume 11a
Page 56

The age is a bit off for your Paul BROWN but close enough to consider this a possible match.

Hi Trish, You are a real treasure. I think that you a correct on all entries.
I do know that some of the family are buried at Rhymney church and will have to make the effort to get there. Although it is only about 6 miles away, I have not yet persuaded my wife to accompany me. She has got a little fed up wiyh trawling churchyards over the years. Only done about 50 !!.
I am very grateful for you help. Thank you so much, Roy

Thank you, Roy. Just happy to help. But you must get yourself to that churchyard! Maybe you could entice your wife with the promise of a nice dinner out afterward!

I'm not sure why we can't find your THOMASes in 1861. You mention that they were living on Plantation Row in Rhymney. Do you know the names of their neighbours by any chance? I can't search the 1861 census by street name but it may be possible to find the street -- and possibly the THOMAS family -- by finding their neighbours [if everyone's still at the same addresses.]

Regards,
Trish

Hi Trish, No I do not have neighbours for the Thomases in 1851. I only have the entry that was given to me by a relative. Have you many Welsh lines to research ?. Virtually all of mine seem to fade out around 1800. Some almost as if they materialised out of thin air. Then to top it off Thomas Thomas, son of David, goes off to America about 1896. He went with a married daughter and son in law. They returned without him. He then disappears forever, even though having a wife and several other daughters. If you want to look for someone do not try a Thomas Thomas. 47 likely candidates found in the area of the USA that he went to.
Will try your idea of "a bribe" but do not hold out any hope until next sprmessage=Hi Trish, No I do not have neighbours for the Thomases in 1851.
