Hi everyone... Does anyone know what the numbers on the 1939 National Registration Card mean? My Dad's number was 558232. Thanks

Are you talking about an entry on the 1939 Register, or are you talking about numbers on a National Registration Identity Card?
Where exactly are the numbers written?

The cards seem to go through several different styles, This is another style - one I'm more familiar with as it has the four letter three number code on it which later became the National Health Service number for that person.

The info is on his RAF form. It says..National Registration Identification Letter & No. Then NHA and the numbers. I know NHA are the letters for Liverpool but wondered if the numbers had a 'meaning'.
