The Devon Family History Society offer a very reasonably priced lookup service from its' indexes and these lookups are available to non-members as well as members. The Society has indexed all marriages from 1754 to 1812 and from 1813 to 1837. They also publish booklets by parish for the marriage indexes for the same period.- for details see the web site
There are ongoing indexing projects for Burials and baptisms for the period 1813 to 1837 and lookups from these are available after the booklets are published.

Hi,

I have a few Perryman/Perriman ancestors in my tree.I wonder if they are connected to your Elizabeth in some way?
Do you have parents for Elizabeth or is that why you need the marriage?

Maybe I can help you?

Best Wishes

Hi Debbi i dont know her parents names i only have her name from one of her childrens birth cert and the census,s. I,m only guessing the marriage from first childs birth and taken her place of birth from the census,s.

Hi Cher,

do you require the 1841 for Elizabeth and Charles James? If you do let me know.

I have found in my notes the marriage in Torrington in 1830 of this couple but as its before 1837 there are no fathers names to be noted.

I have noted that there is a possibility that Elizabeth was 'my' Ellens Aunty.Ellen was the base child of Mary Perriman and was born in 1832.

Hi,

Responding to postings of 2005:
My 3x great grandparents were Charles James, road excavator (born circa 1808, Gt. Torrington) and Elizabeth Perryman (born circa 1804, Little Torrington). I'm related through their son William and grandson William.

I can pass on information about the branch that emigrated to Victoria, Australia in the mid 19th century.

Regards to all Rosemary
