My daughter has the great opportunity to be going to London the first of October. She said that she will try and find my elusive Frederick GATES. I am beginning to doubt that the information I have accrued is really GATES since so many people are decipering the handwriting as YATES. From the Canadian censuses I know that he was born July 1846 and according to LDS christened at St. Thomas Church in Stepney in 1859. My question is where would be the best place for her to look for Frederick and his parents? Christening records only tell me John and Eliza Gates.
