Hi, I wonder if anyone can help me please. One of my ancestors was born in Cliff Bridge, Yorkshire (in 1877). I have done a search for Cliff Bridge but it doesnt really bring up much information. The rest of the family were born in Barnsley or Sharlston. I guess if Cliff Bridge is near Barnsley, Barnsley would we written on the Census information when it says Barnsley for other family members!!!

Can anyone tell me where it is?
Yours hopefully
Katharine

Hi Katherine,
The only place I know called Cliff Bridge is a part of Scarborough. Its a fair way from Barnsley though. What does it say as birth place on the subsequent censuses?

Hi Thanks for replying. The person is listed as born in Cliff Bridge in the 1901 Census when they were already married. When I went back to the previous census I couldnt find anyone with the her maiden name from Cliff Bridge, although there was someone with the same date of birth from Scarborough. I think this is probably correct, although how and why they moved from Scarborough to Barnsley is a mystery.
Best regards
Katharine
