Hello, I have just recieved the form 1180 accident card for a crash from 1944. There is a section with 6 columns entitled "people in aircraft" the first 5 columns are headed by a letter, K M I I(s) and U ,the 6 th column has total.
The aircraft type was a Sunderland and the numbers in the column's are 1,1,_,3,6, total 11.
Can any one tell me what the letters stand for?

Thanks Graham.

I would guess:
K = killed, I = injured, I(s) = injured (severely? or, but saved?), U = uninjured.

But your guess is as good as mine!

Think you could be right! and the M could stand for missing. I know 2 airmen died in the crash, 1, my relative was never found, so it would fit.

Thanks Graham.

I meant to put M = missing, but somehow I missed it!
I feel pretty sure this interpretation is correct, it is so like the kind of bureaucratic etiquette that applies in such cases.
