Could someone please look up James Laver b c 1786 in Great Burstead his wife should be Mary. I am hoping to confirm them as the parents of my gt gt grandfather John Laver b 1833 Great Burstead and his other siblings Ruth, George, Joseph and William who were born after John possibly also in Great Burstead.

Many thanks

Tracey

A very big thank you!
I was sent some info over the weekend by someone whos gt gt gt grandmother would have been my gt gt gt grandfathers sister ( i think thats right !). I couldnt move on John my gt gt grandfather and he seems to be the only one born 1833 Gt Burstead on all the census from 1861 and she had him too. The only way i could sort of link or prove them was by this census.

Once again a massive thank you from a very :D Tracey

Hi Tracey
Although I have lots of lovely CD from Archive CDs (still waiting on my latest delivery), what I have found very useful is a subscription to British Origins. It has the 1841 census indexed for 14 counties (also the 1871 for 8, mainly London area). The indexing is much better than Ancestry & you can search on Exact, Close Variants & All Variants of both first name & surname. Also, when you chose a county it comes up with a list of parishes that you can chose from - very useful if you do not know the exact spelling of a place.
