Your previous thread on this was most helpful and answered some of my queries, however I have one further query to ask.

Under the army record heading of ' Transfers to other Corps or cause of becoming non-effective and record of re-enlistment (if any)(including date)' it has written ' Z(T) res 18.4.46'. What does this abbreviation mean please?

Your help would be most appreciative.

Hi Ann

Rather than open a new thread, it is better to keep it all together, then people have an idea of what is going on.

Z res means he was put on the reserve list, basically he went back to his life an job, but could be called upon if needed further.
Date is the date of discharge to the reserves.

regards

Robert

Hi
As Robert says, if it is about the same person then better to keep it all on the one thread. :smile5:
This (http://www.british-genealogy.com/forums/showthread.php/82706-Royal-Artillery-attestations-Transcripts) is Ann's original thread

Many thanks Robert for your helpful answer. It's most useful to fit in the dates with family events, etc.

Sorry to open a new thread but the original thread looked as if it was closed.
