I am most grateful for the assistance I received from Trish.
I also need to explain how my research began.
We were intrigued by my grandfather's existence as he came to Africa sometime in 1914-1918. Worked for the 1st Rhodesian Regiment 524 as a Lance Corporal and thereafter with British South African Police and lastly with Northern Rhodesia Police as Lieutant. And from this point he seems to have joined the British Government as an Elephant Controller Officer where he worked for about 10 years. It was during this time that he was mauled by a lion and died in Fort Jameson which is now called Chipata. So I had to go to the Zambian Archives where I hit a breakwall - until the information which you gave and was very helpful indeed.
