Does anyone know if there is a list of cemeteries and (for lack of a better term) the inhabitants available online? I purchased the NBI for England and Wales second edition in hopes of finding where relatives are buried but none were mentioned.

Thanks

There isn't much in the NBI for Norfolk and the only online source would be the Norfolk Transcription Archive which records just over 100,000 burials in the county. However, not all these burials will be marked by a headstone.

In 1978, there was a project to record the MIs in churchyards, I know that copies of those carried out are in the Society of Genealogists in London - but are not online.

Burials in the Rosary Cemetery in Norwich were transcribed by P E Hamlin and published by the NNGS (the name of the society before it became the NFHS) in 1986 as volume 18 of the Norfolk Genealogy series. Taking a name at random, let's say HAINES, it records the following:
P1/674 Martha HAINES died 2 Aug 1929 (note - small stone)
P2/779 Maria HAINS, d 8 Mar 1932, aged 68
P2/779 her husband George William d 20 Mar 1937, aged 77
Y3/1542 Stella HAINES wife of Emmerson d 15 Feb 1979 aged 44 (note - urn)

In addition, there is of course the CWGC web-site and the project to place war memorials online.
