Early on Friday morning, Sarah Dearle, a young woman about 19 years of age, daughter of the late Mr Dearle, Farrier, in Jesus-lane, was discovered by the servant who slept with her, seemingly in a dying state. Notwithstanding medical assistance was immediately called in, she expired the same day. It was reported that, having had some words with a young man who kept her company, she had taken laudanum; but no evidence of this appearing at the Coroner's inquest, they brought in a verdict, that she had died in a fit.
