As a result of poor record keeping from 1788 to around 1900,many BMD's are not recorded and many that are only contain basic information.I have spent money on transcripts which have given me nothing but recently found this site.

These will be the original records Warncoot and are wonderful because what is indexed in NSW BDM are almost always early transcripts of these records (and of course the other church registers from the other denominations too). They do contain transcription errors and they were made from what was available at the time and since then some other records have been found and taken to the different archives. These NSW BDM records can be accessed FOR NOTHING all across Australia by finding a copy of the Archives Records Kit - usually in their state library.

For anyone interested in the Newcastle Anglican records, they are held at the the University of Newcastle. The UON have photographed most of the marriages and placed them on Flickr.

Do you mean that the records are available on line, or is it just a list of where they are physically kept ?
