I am going to try to back up my research project on My Heritage to a disc as it is only on my laptop at present and I don't want to lose it.
Has anyone used My Heritage and managed to transfer the files to a disc?
I hope this is the right forum for this thread.

Just searched 'My Heritage' found :Find your Heritage - Build your Family Tree www.
myheritage.com/ along with a free download of ?
same as so many others, does it not give a download to disc etc ?
Personally haven't tried it, keep getting a circle with a line/ ban through it, which holdsup searches no end.
I'm not going that fast!!!!

Hi, Robin.
I'm on the free version 5.0.0 Build 1168. In the menu bar at the very top of the screen select the File menu. There is a Backup option there that lets you make a backup copy to disk or to the web. My strong preference is disk, but that's up to you. It creates a .zip file in the location you designate. I notice now that in addition to the usual Gedcom import/export, they also now support Excel.
Hope this helps.

I don't know anything about My Heritage but I use Brother's Keeper and I copy (backup) the data file onto a USB stick. I don't use the built-in backup facility which by default creates a zip file although there are other options.
Just drag the data file onto the USB drive and a copy is created.
