Hi,

I've found the pension papers of an ancestor (Samuel Deakin, born 1790, Castle Donington, Leicestershire) who served in the 9th Battery/Battalion Royal Artilley from 1808-1824 but I can find very little on the whereabouts of the 9th Battery during his service. The only information I found was a detachment of the 9th Battery served in the Pennisular campaign. He isn't however listed on the Pennisular or Waterloo medal rolls but was alive up to 1851 (census returns) so I'm confident he didn't serve during these campaigns.

Any idea where this Battery was stationed or were the companies sent to different places ?

Kind regards
Adrian
