Abigail Adelaide

Just out of curiosity - does anyone know why this combination of names was so common in the 1800s? I have 5 Adelaides and 3 Abigail Adelaides in my tree of 600 and I have often wondered why! I don't know if it is particularly common only in Jewish families because all of mine are Jewish!

Ideas, sensible or otherwise, gratefully received!
