Hello Pejay, Looking on LDS for a Thomas born near Woodhorn I found a couple of possibilities. Ashington is only 2.2 miles from Woodhorn but the Thomas born here died in 1770.
The next closest was Morpeth which is only 7.6 miles from Woodhorn.

THOMAS BROWN
Ch: 28 OCT 1750 Morpeth, Northumberland

*I'm not sure how you can verify if this is the right Thomas.
*I also looked at Grants born mid 1700's near Woodhorn to try to find a Grant family that Ann may belong to but there were none closer than abbout 20 miles or so.

Kind Regards
Peter Euston.

Hi and thanks for your reply, sorry about the delay. I too initially wondered about the thomas brown from ashington, I didn't see the thomas from morpeth though,it is a possibility, as both the names john and jane seem to have cropped up fairly regularly, it is very difficult with a surname like brown, it would be good if they had an unusual christian name even - that may help a bit, not sure how I could verify this, maybe i will just have to keep digging away!

:) Hi many thanks for trying, but I think they mainly stayed in Northumberland, I wish it was a more unusual name though, it would make things a bit easier!!

Hello Suzuki, it is not only common names that can bbe difficult. My GF was Walton Harry EUSTON but does not appear in any records before coming to Australia in 1904.
Obviously he is not ready to be found yet ... if ever.

Kind Regards
Peter Euston.

Hi Pejay,

I don't know if it'll help but Thomas Brown died 16.03.1816 and was buried 18.03.1816 in Cresswell. If you're related to Thomas Brown and you ever get to Cresswell churchyard, you'll find half your ancestors there! The graveyard if full of them! I am the grand-daughter of James Brown (twin brother of Jacka Brown) and I too have Thomas Brown as an ancestor.

His wife Ann died 07.01.1800 and buried 10.01.1800 at Woodhorn. She was about 5 years older than him.

That's as far back as I've gone at the moment but hoping to go back further so I'll let you know.

If you have any clues though, they'd be greatly appreciated.

Sarah
