I have an ancestor who was bn about 1784 at a town in Denbighshire. The enumerator has only written Hen.Would that be Henllan or can anybody suggest another village in Denbighshire beginning with "Hen"?.
Many thanks.

I don't know if Hen is short for Henllan , but it does seem likely. Hen in Welsh also means 'Old ' ..... my village is Hen Golwyn or Old Colwyn . There is a village called Henllan which is a few miles outside of the town of Denbigh , you'll find it easily on google maps .
Colwyn.
The GENUKI Gazetteer lists 5 for Denbighshire.
Hendre-ddu
Henllan
Hen-efail
Hengoed
Hendrerwydd
