John SNELL from Hennock, DEVON is on the 1881 census married to Frances born Basingstoke, Hants.Living in Crondall, Hants.
With them, they have one William AITKIN born c1873 - 'up north' (various places shown on difference censuses).
By 1891, Francis has moved to Kent and William is now SNELL. John is in Portsea Island Workhouse.
In 1901 Francis shows herself as widowed but John is back living with his mother in Devon. William appears to get married in 1898, again as SNELL.
Cannot find John & Frances' marriage or William's birth. Have looked for a previous marriage for Frances as well.
