This place, according to my research is on the A478 and is variously listed as being in either Carmarthenshire or Pembrokeshire.

I have the family in the 1841 census, along with 6 of their 7 children. Their eldest [Sarah] was a domestic servant and away from home. The reference to county is Carmarthenshire -HO107/Pc.1382/Bk.14/Fo.17/Pa.4

The next sighting of the parents is in 1871. There is now just the parent, along with the eldest child [Sarah] still a domestic servant and a granddaughter Hannah. The reference to county is now Pembrokeshire - RG10/5506/108/9.

Census ref.s are courtesy of TNA-crown copyright.

I have had great success with their son David who married in 1845 and is my wife's 2X Great grandfather. The other children - 2X Great grandaunts and uncles have proven difficult or well-nigh impossible.

I have a little on Sarah [1841 and 1871], Morris [1841 and 1861], Ann [1841], William [1841], Margaret [1841] and Sophia [1841]. The surname is Thomas

I would like to know more about David - the father - in the intervening years

Thnaks

Thank you jellylegs for all of the information you've provided.

It has opened up the history no end, but the places David listed as his place of birth in each census are a bit of a puzzle.
