This is my brickwall! I can't go back any further than my gg grandfather Thomas Parker b 1883 in Penge. I have him on the 1881 census living with his wife & children at Cobden Rd Penge but no sign of him before that. Any ideas?

If he was on the 1881 census, he can't have been born in 1883!! If you can give his correct birth year I might be able to help you.

Yes thats him Sarah! Thanks for that. I'd love to find out his parents names & although I've looked on Family Search etc I can't find any record of them- any ideas?

Thanks Annie. That sounds feasible, I knew his wifes name was Ellen but had no surname so thats great. I'll look into getting the marriage cert but its not always easy from here in Cyprus!
