There is a reunion tour starting in, I think, the USA on June 25.

There is also a 45th Anniversary tour planned in the UK. without Michael Nesmith, planned for May 2011.

Does anyone know if they're landing in or near Toronto?

Ooh yes - well the repeats that were on in the UK in the 70's. We saw them at their last reunion tour in 1997 - absolutely brilliant - might try and go again this time round.

Saw an interview on TV the other night with three old men calling themselves the Monkees. Must be imposters as the Monkees are the same age as me

I know how you feel, Sue, as I saw something similar here. Had an awful moment when recent photo's of Cliff Richard and Mick Jagger were also on another program. For the life of me, I couldn't understand why I look more like Mick than Cliff.

Wouldn't be the same without Mike Nesmith - always my favourite. Did you know his mother invented Tippex?

I have always adored Cliff Richard! One of the radio stations I listen to, plays music from the 60's, 70's, and 80's and Cliff is a repeat player. Love the memories he brings back :)

Well, well Vanessa, you and I have similar tastes in music. Sure beats the 'garbage' that is the so-called music  of today.

Just read an article about another 'joker' from my era - Screamin' Lord Sutch one of the 1st shock-rockers, an inspiration later for Alice Cooper.

All I know about Screaming Lord Sutch is that he eloped with a girl who lived upstairs from us in our block of flats in London, while Adam Faith lived in the same street. But does anyone remember Wee Willie Harris? :)

No, I don't remember him.

B-T-W, I was living in London in the early 1960's [Acton to be precise] and I believe an Aunt of Adam Faith's lived a few doors away. Where were you living at the time? P/M if you wish.

When first released, I thought Last Train to Clarksville was actually Last Train to Clarkson (a GO train station between Toronto and Hamilton). My fave was Michael Nesmith too.

Ooh Adam Faith came to one of our high school hops in Montreal in the early 60’s. Nobody else had heard of him but I got kudos for not only knowing who he was but also for having some of his records. I was able to ask AF if my old schoolfriend in England was right in claiming her dad was his architect. ‘Nah, but I think he did some gardening for me.’

My Nan, bless her, told us many years later one of the other women with whom she queued regularly at Sainsbury’s had a ‘lad who did a bit in a popular band.’ Turns out that was Mrs Clark's boy Dave …..

I remember the Monkees. I liked Davy too Vanessa.

Why were there three at the interview? Did one not attend for some reason, does my memory fail me and that's how many there were or has one... you know.... died?

I think Mike Nesmith is still going strong but he's not joining the other three on the UK tour

Remember watching Davy Jones play in a charity football match locally. He spent ages afterwards signing autographs. Seemed to have loads of time for everyone.
Can't remember all the others playing, but one was actor Michael Angellis (Boys from the black stuff, etc) who was at the time "an item" with Gail from Corrie, who was there to support him.

There are dates all over US, but am not sure if any are close enough to be worth travelling.

I remember the Monkees - Hey hey its the Monkees - always hanging around (I think thats how it goes) I was just a kid in the 1970s but I definitely remember them.

Will the tour continue despite the passing of Davy Jones?
:(
I also remember him being called or referred to as Davy Jones' Locker.
