I know your posting is now over a year old so you may have your answers by now. However as I was looking at the Stowe parish records, I looked for your query as well.
Stowe Baptism record: 1/12/1822 Richard Varney, son of John & Mary of Stowe. Labourer.
No trace of Caroline Alderman in parish records, although numerous other Alderman's!
1841 census for Stowe/Dadford - Thomas Alderman 35 years Ag.Lab.,
Caroline 15 years, Thomas 14 years, George 10 years, William 9 years, Edward 7 years. (If this is the right Caroline it puts her DoB as 1826).
No trace Richard Varney family in 1841 census for Stowe.
The marriage did take place at Stowe in 1845 as you correctly state, by banns read in July & August.
1851 census shows Richard, Caroline & Family living in Church End, Buckingham
Richard an Ag. Lab. Children Thomas, Barnabas & William.
1861 census - Nortons Row, Buckingham, additional children Joshua & Richard Jnr.
1871 - Caroline now widowed, and children Joshua, William & Richard.
Richard Varneys death recorded March quarter 1871 (source FreeBMD)
Caroline' death Dec 1873.
I can tell you Joshua married and moved to Silverstone [Northants]
Barnabas & William both worked at Castle Mills, Buckingham, both living nearby.
Hope this helps!
