One of the family - James - moved to the UK in 1840. On his marraige certifcate he gives his father's name as Richard and in Census documents for Wales & then Southwark his place of birth as Kilkenny.
Knowing that people often named their children after their own families, James named his children: Richard, Mary, Ellen, John, Edward, George & Lawrence.
Any signposting would be a help.
