I have noted the term "born factor" under 'rank or profession' on marriage certificates. The term "blk in orders" is also used under the ame of the Vicar.
They were married after banns if that makes any difference.

I imagine that must be "Cl[er]k in [holy] orders".

"born factor"

If there's possible confusion between 'b' and 'c', I would suggest "corn factor".

As always, the best way to get useful advice is to post the image.

I will agree in 'born factor' the b looks more similar to the c in their residence 'chariot Street' than the b in banns. I still do not know what a corn factor is. I'm from Nebraska, I should know corn. Bob

Oxford Emg;ish Dictionary:
Factor: A business agent; a merchant buying and selling on commission.

So basically a Corn Factor = Corn Dealer.

If you want an hilarious account of the activities of a "factor" in the Americas try the "Sot-weed Factor" by John Barth.
